But the cons with this video editor is, you have to invest a lot of time to learn it, cause it is a professional video editing tool and It’s a bit difficult to use. And one more con with this software is, the editor is a little heavy on resources so you will need a good system to run this video editor smoothly without any interruption.

If you are searching for a professional-grade video editing software program for Linux, then I am sure it doesn’t get better than Lightworks. It offers also free version editing Software along with its paid version, but the problem with the free version is you are limited to 720p resolution. Lightworks has been used to create Hollywood movies, which include the latest ‘The Wolf of Wall Road’ with ‘Leonardo DiCaprio’.

As I said that it has been used to create fiction movies so It’s designed to enable teams of editors using multiple workstations to create 2 or 3-hour movies containing dozens of scenes and hundreds of clips. This editing tool is very powerful and they offer a fine degree of control that other video editors don’t have.

4 ) iMovie

Free Video Editing Software

iMovie is one of my favorite video editors in the above list, and also it’s a very helpful video editor for beginners to learn video editing basics but the problem is, it’s only available for Mac OS, and hence neither Windows nor Linux. So if you own a Mac then you don’t need to buy this software because iMovie comes pre-installed with your Mac which essentially makes it free.

The best part about iMovie is it’s very easy to use and has a very simple interface. Apple’s optimization makes iMovie a more snappy and smooth editor. Its features and interface look similar to the Final Cut Pro editor so I can say that you feel more comfortable with the Final Cut Pro video editor after using this editing tool.

Free Video Editing Software

Blender is a hugely powerful and open-source software and it is mostly used for the creation of 3D modeling and animation.
you can create and produce your own full movie just by using Blender. However, I would not recommend that. It is open-source software and is totally free that’s why the reason I suggest Blender over any other 3D Modelling software for 3D animations or 3D modeling.

Various advanced features can also be accessed with a little effort, Including 2D and 3D movement tracking, compositing of animated objects and real footage, plus even some nice camera correction tools that can deal with lens calibration and image stabilization. And lots of features you can get in Blender. But the cons with this software are, it’s a bit difficult to use but if you are ready to invest your time to learn this software then you won’t find any missing features.

7 ) BlackMagic DaVinci Resolve

Free Video Editing Software

It’s hard to believe that the BlackMagic has made DaVinci Resolve Lite completely free. It is broadly used for color correction in Hollywood movies due to its power. And yet, despite this being the lite version, there are hardly any features missing in comparison to the studio version which cost 300£. That’s why I love this editing software.

At the same time as all the different video editing software programs do provide built-in color correction tools, none of them offer as vast control over color correction as DaVinci Resolve. That’s the reason it is used in Hollywood Movies for color correction. DaVinci Resolve offers a familiar multi-track timeline with quick edit pop-ups and customizable keyboard shortcuts. This software is one of the best Free Video Editing Software.
